Capt. Larry B. Frattini, 63, departed the gate for his final flight West on Saturday, July 26, 2014. He was born in Vallejo, CA, raised in San Lorenzo, CA and lived for many years in Victorville, CA. Larry served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. He was a Journeyman Electrician with the I.B.E.W., Local 595, before working his way through flight training in general aviation to earn his ATP. Larry began his aviation career working for Eureka Airlines. He was a Check Airman at Air Pacific/Golden Gate Airlines, was Chief Pilot for AIA International out of Atlantic City (AIY), and transported Racehorses while working for Interstate Airlines. He eventually relocated to CA to fly for AIRCAL before joining American Airlines. He retired as a Captain with American Airlines
in 2003.
He was diagnosed with Early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2008 and spent his last few years in
care at Magnolia's of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marco and Julia Frattini. He is survived by his wife, Lynne Frattini, his mother-in-law, Barbara Miller and his
brother-in-law, Bill Miller, his cousin, Barbara Guggia-Chilton and numerous aunts,
uncles and cousins in Bergamo, Italy.
