Louise Demari

Louise ‘Marie’ DeMari, 84, of Absecon, passed away December 11, 2016. Born in Atlantic City, she’s lived in Absecon for over 50 years. Marie was a majorette with the J. Willis Gale VFW Post 215 Drum and Bugle Corp. She enjoyed bowling and had a high average many times with the Powder Puff bowling league. She played first base for the Absecon Women’s Softball League, ‘The Squaws’. She traveled to Oklahoma with her dearest friend, JoAnn Westcoat, to swim with the Diving Collegian Steel Pier Water Show. She often spoke of Joanne and the fun they had swimming to the end of the Steel Pier. Marie loved her pool and also her parrot ‘Molly’. She will be best remembered for her gourmet holiday meals.

She is predeceased by her husband Basil in 2013. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Kathleen) and Bill (Sandy); her grandchildren, Michael (Gineen), Robert (Cori), Kristin (Dave), Bill, Stephen and Dana; as well as her great-grandchildren.
