Lucille M. Merendino

Lucille M. Merendino, 83, of Sarasota, FL, passed away September 21, 2014. Born in Hazelton, PA, She lived in East Stroudsburg, PA before moving to Atlantic City, where she lived for 35 years, then moving to Absecon and finally to Sarasota, moving there 7 years ago. During her career, delighting in being a people person, she was a waitress for several restaurants in the Poconos, as well as Haddon Hall (now Resorts Casino) and Showboat Casino. Later in life, she became a real estate agent and also organized bus tours for AARP. Always loving to surround herself with family and friends, she loved to entertain and hear people enjoying themselves with a lot of laughter and storytelling. She also loved to dance. She loved dancing with her husband when they visited lounges or clubs in Atlantic City.

She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Merendino and her parents, Danny and Helen Dura. She is survived by her sister, Ellen (Donald) Alexander and their children, Matthew (Brandi) and Kelli; her stepchildren, Lynda (Ed) Flink and Thomas Merendino; 5 grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren; cousins, Jim and Joyce Wilhelm; Godchild, Lisa Beach and the most amazing friends a person could hope to have.

A memorial gathering will be 10AM to 11AM, Saturday, October 25, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A funeral mass will be offered at 11AM. Burial will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Mays Landing.
