Margaret Ann Case

Case, Margaret Ann Gilmartin, lost the battle with old age four days into her 89th year. She hated being an old lady. Complicating factors included Parkinson’s disease and pneumonia. Born in Atlantic City New Jersey in the year of the Great Depression, she was the third of six children of Thomas & Jane (Moran) Gilmartin. She developed many useful & creative life skills Growing up in that era in Atlantic City. She married Allen Dale Case at the age of nineteen and they loved & tortured each other until his death in 2005. Together they raised and did battle with four spirited children: Kathleen (Steve) Guterres; Terri (Gary) Cole; Beth-Ann (James) Culbertson and Gary (Jessica) Case and Claire Case. Marge loved babies and thoroughly enjoyed her 8 grandchildren: Jesse (Amie) Guterres, Maya (Jeffrey) Thompson, Ariana & Kiara Cole, Emily & Colby Culbertson and Kendra & Rhianna Case. In addition, she was thrilled to brag about her three awesome great grandkids: Kai & Annabelle Thompson and Leola Guterres. Marge was fiercely loyal to “her family” and would always step in and take the reins for anybody in need. Both her and Al had quirky Senses of humor and there was rarely a dull moment in the household. She leaves behind 27 nieces & nephews who loved her fiercely and multitudes of 2nd, 3rd and even 4th cousins. She knew all of their birthdays and was proud to claim them as part of her tribe. Her stories will entertain us for years to come! Her visitation will take place on Saturday June 23 from 11AM to 12:30PM at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave. Absecon, NJ. A service will follow at 12:30PM. Please feel free to dress in whatever makes you happy and bring lots of stories to help us celebrate her amazing life. Also bring your best dressed automobile for the procession as she wants to be sure she beats Al’s car number of 27!! Marge received incredible care over the last five years in Meadowview Nursing Home. Big shoutout to all the incredible staff there!
