Obituary For Marilyn Conover

Conover, Marilyn B., 62, of Absecon passed away at home on Saturday October 8, 2022. Lifelong resident of Absecon, Marilyn, along with her 3 siblings, had fond memories growing up in the local schools, church, and clubs in the Absecon area. She was a 1978 graduate of Pleasantville HS and a graduate of Atlantic Community College. Immediately following high school she was hired by the FAA Technical Center (previously known as NAFEC) and was a recent retiree after having worked there for 42 years. Marilyn enjoyed going to local beach/park concerts and events, her time spent helping with the American Legion, laughing at a good joke, and chatting and keeping up with her family and friends. She will fondly be remembered for her Lancaster trips with her family and friends, her stories, and her infectious laugh. She most of all will be remembered for her heart and love for her family and friends, especially her nieces, as they have grown up through the years. Marilyn is predeceased by her parents, Harold "Curt" and Dorothy "Dot" Conover; and several Aunts and Uncles. She is survived by her siblings, Dale (Jill) Conover, Linda (Bob) Merlock, and Steven Conover; and her nieces and nephew. She will be missed by many close friends and will forever be remembered as "Auntie M" by her dear nieces, Jennifer Merlock and Heather (Parker) Ingersoll (nee Merlock). Visitation will be 11AM to 12PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow immediately at 12PM. Burial will follow at United Methodist Church at Absecon Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please donate in Marilyn's memory to a local organization of your choice.

Marilyn was synonymous with a good time. Time with her was always enjoyable. From family dinners and holidays to Beach concerts we always had a wonderful memorable time and an even better laugh together. She was a wonderful aunt to my wife and had the biggest heart for her Mother, her family and her countless friends. You will be truly missed until we meet again one day in Heaven.

Marilyn will be missed by her many, many friends who loved her. She was a member of the Absecon American Legion Auxiliary Unit 28 as well as the Chaplain. She was an invaluable employee at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center and was involved with many of the Tech Centers functions until she retired to take care of her ailing Mother. She had a great laugh and enjoyed simple pleasures like having breakfast with her friends and enjoying Wednesday night socials at the Legion. In the summer, each Friday night, you could find her sitting on the beach in Somers Point where she enjoyed listening to the free concerts with her Mom until she went to be with the Lord. Wednesday night socials at the Legion will not be the same without Marilyn. RIP my friend!

I am so very sorry, this is so sad. My best memories are growing up in Absecon. In 'our' neighborhood. Taking the bus to AC to work on the Boardwalk, playing kick-ball, flash-light tag, sleepovers etc. So many more fond memories that I will always cherish. Sending love to the family.

We Offer the Book of Memories™

Parsels Funeral Home offers what we consider to be the finest example of online memorials, the Book of Memories™. Created by an award-winning team of web developers and designers while being led by a funeral professional with over 25 years of experience, this online memorial is intended to provide your family with a permanent place to pay tribute to your loved one.

Far more than a traditional obituary—which is usually published only once and has no interactivity at all—the Book of Memories™ Memorial Website is a fully interactive archive of treasured photographs and stories remembered from their time spent with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.

You’ll be able to invite others to visit the online memorial, where they can upload images, share stories, write heart-felt messages of condolence, send a floral tribute to the funeral, or make a charitable donation in memory of your loved one. And the built-in social media integration means they can then “spread the word” about their addition to your loved one’s Book of Memories™ using Facebook and Twitter.

We offer the families we serve a Book of Memories™ memorial website with the intention that it gives you a measure of solace and comfort during the coming months. To arrange for a Book of Memories® memorial website for your loved one, contact us today.
