Marilyn Mae Korté

Korté, Marilyn Mae (nee Clark), passed away March 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer. Born and raised in raised Philadelphia, she was drawn to the Jersey Shore when her family moved to Brigantine. She was an amazing swimmer and won the Brigantine Around the Island Swim at age 14. She has numerous trophies boasting her wins in other various swim events. She met and married her husband, Wayne, and they raised their three children and watched their family grow. Jol was a sweet, warm, and kind-hearted woman who loved spending time with her family and pets. She enjoyed many lunch dates, shopping trips, and martinis! She was the strongest fighter and most courageous woman we ever knew.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, Wayne, Sr.; her parents, Alexander and Marilyn (Carey) Clark Jr.; and her brother, Al Clark, III. She leaves behind her children, Wayne, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, Marilyn McElroy and her husband, James, and Lynnea Lopez and her husband, Edward; her grandchildren, Madeline and Katherine Korté, Sarah, Carson, and Kylynn McElroy, and Jared, Benjamin, Spencer, and Hannah Lopez, all of whom were her pride and joy; sisters, Sandra McLaughlin (late John McLaughlin) and Janice Anderson (Neil); sister-in-law, Lorraine Clark; along with many nieces and nephews who loved and adored their ‘Aunt Mol’.
