Mayanna Clay, 92, of Galloway, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Atlanticare, Mainland Division. Born in Irvington, NJ, she lived in Vailsburg, Newark, before moving to Galloway in 1987. She was a member of the Kilburn Memorial Presbyterian Church in Vailsburg for many years, where she served as a choir mother for the children’s choir. She was also a girl scout leader while living in Newark. Since moving to Galloway, she has been a long time member of the Absecon Presbyterian Church. In her spare time, she loved to garden, she was a coin collector and was a volunteer with Atlanticare, Mainland Division.
She is predeceased by her sister, Henrietta Sandle. She is survived by her daughter, Georgianna (Bill) Brixius; her son Dana (Carol) Clay; her granddaughter, Jessica (Vito) Cuccurullo; her great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Jacqueline and Dominic; her niece, Annie Marie; and her nephew, Johnny (Phyllis) Sandle; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be 10AM to 11AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, where a service will follow immediately at 11AM. Burial will follow at Absecon Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged to the Absecon Presbyterian Church, at the above listed address.
