Obituary For Michael H. Kennedy, Jr.

Michael H. Kennedy Jr., 55, of Somers Point, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30th, 2025, at Shore Medical Center. He lived most of his life in Somers Point and graduated from Mainland Regional High School. He was a member of the Electrician’s Union Local 351 IBEW and was a member of the Somers Point Fire Department #1 since 1988. One of his greatest joys was helping people and serving his community. Mike used to say there are two types of people in this world, the kind that run into a fire and the kind that run out. He was a “Run In” kind of guy. He never turned away anyone in need of help. His favorite past time was camping in Port Republic with a cold beer in his hand and his cat, Spunk by his side.

Mike is predeceased by his father, Michael H. Kennedy, Sr. and his half-brother, James Gracco. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Kennedy; his children, Christina Robinson (Michael) and Michael H. Kennedy, III (Meaghan); his grandson’s, Vincenzo and Giovanni Robinson; his sister and brother, Kathy Weiss (Jon) and Brian Kennedy (Tina);his half sister Stacy Jones; his nieces and nephew, Tori, and Jake Weiss and Alexandra Kennedy; and his aunt, Patricia Hayes (Tom Goodman).

Mike will be missed for his sense of humor, sarcasm and his ability to always find humor in any situation.

We Offer the Book of Memories™

Parsels Funeral Home offers what we consider to be the finest example of online memorials, the Book of Memories™. Created by an award-winning team of web developers and designers while being led by a funeral professional with over 25 years of experience, this online memorial is intended to provide your family with a permanent place to pay tribute to your loved one.

Far more than a traditional obituary—which is usually published only once and has no interactivity at all—the Book of Memories™ Memorial Website is a fully interactive archive of treasured photographs and stories remembered from their time spent with friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.

You’ll be able to invite others to visit the online memorial, where they can upload images, share stories, write heart-felt messages of condolence, send a floral tribute to the funeral, or make a charitable donation in memory of your loved one. And the built-in social media integration means they can then “spread the word” about their addition to your loved one’s Book of Memories™ using Facebook and Twitter.

We offer the families we serve a Book of Memories™ memorial website with the intention that it gives you a measure of solace and comfort during the coming months. To arrange for a Book of Memories® memorial website for your loved one, contact us today.
