Barham, Michael S., Sr., - 72, of Pleasantville, passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2017 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Atlantic City on December 29, 1944. He graduated Atlantic City High School with the class of 1962 and was a lifelong resident of the area. He proudly served in the Air Guard/Air Force at NAFEC, Atlantic City. He was a self-employed carpenter until he joined the Carpenters Union local 623 at 57 years of age. There, he worked "up top" with the wall gang building some of the casino towers. Mike worked hard and had lots of fun with really great guys from all trades. He was also an original co-owner of the Brigantine Nautilus in the 1980s. In the 1970s and 80s he joined many of the sports leagues in Brigantine. He also coached girls' softball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, gardening, his bike shed and riding his Harley. He had exceptional high energy and everything was a challenge. Once you met him, you did not forget him. He is survived by his favorite wife, Christine of 22 years, Roxy his German Shepard, his three children Christy, Suzie, and Michael along with several grandchildren as well as his exceptionally supportive friends Sean (Noodle), Anna Woods and Lucy Quigly. Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 10:30 AM at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Route 50 in Estell Manor.
