Kerekes, Minerva, 99, of Absecon, passed away May 14, 2017 at Southern Ocean Center in Manahawkin, where she was a 15 year resident. Born in Newark, she lived in Irvington and Toms River before moving to Absecon, where she lived for 18 years. Minerva was a senior lead operator for Schering Plough in Union for several years before her retirement. She enjoyed arts and crafts, including painting, knitting and crocheting and especially decorating her home at Christmas.
She is predeceased by her first and second husband, Joseph Casale and Frank Kerekes; and her son, Joseph Casale. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Frank Casale and Kenneth and Patricia Kerekes; her sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Anthony Casale; and her 6 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 12PM to 3PM on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow at 3PM. Burial will be private.
