Patricia E. McGowan (nee Miller)

Patricia Eloise McGowan (nee Miller), 84, of Absecon, passed peacefully with her family by her side, on Friday, October 30, 2015, at Spring Village of Galloway. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Anastasia Miller; her husband, Joseph Patrick “Mike”; her brother, Joseph Miller; her sister, Barbara Grosso; and her best friend, Ruth Cox.

Pat graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1949. She worked as a telephone operator at N.J. Bell Telephone and Sears Roebuck & Co. before joining Resorts International Hotel Casino where she served as a telephone operator for 27 years, before retiring. She was recognized for her excellent attendance record there. She loved crocheting, knitting and gardening. Pat made hundreds of beautiful afghans, baby saques and sweaters over the years for family and friends.

Pat is survived by her sons, Charles J. and his wife Kathy McGowan and Patrick J. McGowan, both of Absecon; her daughter, Doreen Langer of Naples, FL; and her sister, Sr. Mary Blaise of Plainfield. She leaves 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM, Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, where relatives and friends may visit from 9-10:45AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Egg Harbor Township. Services are entrusted to Parsels Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Healthcare Services, 105 Fieldcrest Ave., Suite 402, Edison, NJ 08837.
