Paul M. Carney, 71, of Absecon, passed away Tuesday February 23, 2016 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Lower Merion Twp., PA, he had lived in Mays Landing and Egg Harbor Twp. before moving to Absecon 18 years ago. Mr. Carney was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked with Jersey Architectural Door and Supply Co. in Atlantic City as an estimator, before his retirement. Paul loved to play the clarinet. He was one of the founding members of the Atlantic Pops Community Band. He also enjoyed being a member of the Atlantic County Sky Blazers where he was able to fly model airplanes he built. He also enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean with his wife, fishing, Flyers games and the Broadway show Wicked, which he saw several times.

He is survived by his wife, Lois D. (McNeil) Carney; his children, Michele (Scott) Mattle, Brian (Amy) Carney, Glenn (Robyn) Carney and Christina (Jimmy) Centeno; his siblings, Susan Park, Thomas (Jerri) Park and Nancy Park; his 7 grandchildren; and his trusted companion Joey, his cat.

A memorial visitation will be 10AM to 10:45AM, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ. A memorial service will follow immediately at 10:45AM. For those wishing, condolence messages may be made at www.parselsfh.com.
