Obituary For Ralph Peter Diaz
Diaz, Ralph Peter, 87, of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2025. Ralph was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Vineland, New Jersey in 1971, to raise his family and then moved to Egg Harbor Township in 2017. When he moved to New Jersey he worked for several years at Western Exterminating and was fondly known to friends and family as the “bug man.” He left exterminating and spent many years working for Inspira Health Systems, formerly known as Newcomb Hospital. He began his career at Newcomb Hospital in housekeeping and retired as a materials handler from Inspira.
Ralph was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country during the Korean Conflict. While in the Air Force he played football and was affectionately known by his team mates as “skeeter” due to his size and agility. Ralph also boxed for the Boys Club of America as a young child and teen in New York and was an avid weightlifter well into his sixties.
Ralph was the kindest man, always willing to help someone in need. He was loyal to his friends and loved his family with his whole heart, they were his world. His smile lit up a room and you could count on him telling a joke or playing a prank as he loved to make people laugh. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father, mother and sister, Rachel Saris (Torres). He is survived by his brother, Robert Diaz (Rosita); sister, Carmen Astacio (George); daughter, Lisa Diaz; grandson, Daniel Diaz; granddaughter; Rachel Webster (Nee Harris) (Jake); and his great-granddaughter, best buddy and partner in crime, Anastasia, who affectionately called him GG Pop.
