Raymond Clark Smith, 62, of Northfield, NJ passed away suddenly on Wednesday December 23, 2020. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Surace), daughter Tara Baldwin (David), three granddaughters: Peyton, Brooklyn, and Kayleigh; brother Stanley Smith, sisters Donna Craig Peterson and Carolyn Mattis. He is predeceased by his parents Stanley N. Smith Sr. (father). Lola Marvin Smith (mother), Helen Smith (step-mother),and sister Phyllis Smith. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Raymond, raised in Pleasantville and Egg Harbor Township, graduated from Absegami High School in 1976. He enlisted in the Army where he spent three years stationed in Bamberg, Germany. Upon discharge, he became a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Raymond later graduated from Atlantic County Institute of Technology having studied Computer Aided Drafting and Design. He worked for ARH associates for nearly twenty years before going to South Jersey Industries where he was currently employed.

Raymond was an activist for Peace, Human rights and Social Justice. He loved and accepted everyone for whom they are without judgement.

Raymond was passionate about photography, hiking and backpacking, and loved to cook. He dreamed of one day thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. Raymond was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was affectionately called PopPoparazzi for always having camera in hand to photograph his granddaughters. Raymond had also recently introduced them to hiking.

A Celebration of Life will be planned in the future.
