Richard T. Lynch, 71, of Galloway, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Atlanticare, Galloway. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he grew up in Old Bridge and lived in Bayville for 20 years before moving to Galloway 28 years ago. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Lynch worked as a maintenance supervisor for Harrah’s and Showboat Casinos before retiring. He was also a member of the carpenters union #2212. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon and was a 3rd degree Knight with Knights of Columbus, Villa Marie, Council 6342. While living in Bayville, he served as a member of the board of education for Central Regional High School and also was a long time member of the Lions Club. His hobbies included being an avid swimmer as well as traveling with his wife. He especially enjoyed trips to Germany and Italy. He also enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Rose Lynch. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth M.; his brother and sister, Thomas J. (Joanne) Lynch and Patricia Lynch; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4PM to 7PM, Friday, April 25 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. Visiting will also be 9:45AM to 10:45AM, Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, with 11:00AM mass following. A mausoleum service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus, Villa Marie Council 6342, Scholarship Fund, PO Box 971, Absecon, NJ 08201.
