Alfano, Richard William, 65, of Egg Harbor City, passed away November 12, 2017. Born in Elizabeth, he grew up in Clark, before moving to Egg Harbor City 15 years ago. Richard graduated from Roselle Catholic and Union Junior College in Scotch Plains, attaining his Associate Degree. He then began to work with his dad at the family business, Mike Alfano & Sons Wholesale Bananas, where he remained until the business closed. Richard was a devout catholic, attending mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Church of The Assumption in Galloway Twp. He was involved with many church activities, including preparing the music for the screens for Sunday Mass, each week.

Richard is predeceased by his parents, Michael M. and Eleanor Alfano. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne Zarrello (James); his brother, Michael Alfano (Barbara); his niece and nephews, Melissa Zarrello, Michael Alfano and Nicholas Alfano; his aunt, Margaret Kuntz; his uncle, Frank Alfano (Irene); as well as many cousins.

Visitation will be 8:30AM to 9:30AM Saturday November 18, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Church of The Assumption, 146 S. Pitney Rd., Galloway. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30AM. Mausoleum entombment will be at 12:30PM at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the church at the above address or to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220, Kansas City, MO, 64131 (pkdcure.org), would be appreciated.
