Rose Eileen Hoffmann, best known for walking her beloved dog Sydney in Heritage Park in Absecon, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home on January 5, 2017, with Sydney and her son Paul by her side. Rose was born in London, England on September 21, 1928. She survived the WWII bombings of London and at age 18 traveled alone to America to marry her wartime sweetheart John, who was stationed in England and served as a gunner on B-17 bombers. Rose was a long time employee of NJ Bell Telephone. She is survived by her only child Paul and his wife Debra, her grandsons David and James and their wives Sarah and Sarah, and her great grandchildren Thomas, Daniel, Lia and Carina. A viewing and short service will commence at noon on January 17 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park, Egg Harbor Twp.
