Groves, Roy O., 82, of Elwood, passed away September 3, 2016. Born in Pleasantville, he grew up and lived there before moving to Elwood 56 years ago. Roy is a US Marine veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a dock foreman for Gardner’s Express in Hammonton for 33 years and later worked as a custodian for Oakcrest High School in Mays Landing, retiring in 2003. He loved and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren. You could also find him spending time and swimming at Egg Harbor Lake. He also looked forward to the road trips he and his wife would take together.

He is survived by his wife, Alma S. (Hammell); his sons, Forrest R. (Catherine) and Jeffrey (Kathy); and his grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Meaghan, Alexandria and Joshua.

Visitation will be 10AM to 11:30AM Friday, September 9, 2016 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow immediately at 11:30AM. Burial will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery.
