Salvatore Damore

Salvatore A. (Sam) Damore, 84, of Hammonton, passed away peacefully, with his children by his side, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Virtua Hospital, Berlin. Born in Camden, NJ, he had previously lived in Brigantine, Pleasantville and Egg Harbor City. He was an US Army veteran. He was a longtime educator, working in Atlantic and Cape May Counties, lastly working as a coordinator with the Cape May County Child Study Team, in Cape May Court House. As a young man, he enjoyed sports and played basketball for Camden Catholic, while in high School. He also was very handy, enjoying home construction and auto repairs.

He is predeceased by his wife, Gloria; his son, Phillip; and his brother, Lawrence. He is survived by his children, Michael (Genell) Damore, Kathleen (Stephen) Chaga and Earl Osborne; his sisters, Mildred Boyer and Dorothy Ricciardi; his grandchildren, Michael and Brian Damore, and Michael Chaga; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Samm Damore; and his companion, longtime friend and caregiver, Patricia Greenwood.

A memorial mass will be offered 11AM, Thursday, March 15, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon with family and friends gathering from 10:30AM to 11:00AM.
