Sandra D. Venable, 73, of Absecon, NJ, passed away May 6, 2021. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, she grew up in Atlantic City and lived there before moving to Los Angeles, California in 1966. She moved back to Absecon in the early 90’s. She was the owner of SDV Enterprises where she rented and managed properties in the South Jersey area. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, puzzles, the latest gadgets and singing.
Sandra is predeceased by her mother, Clara Testman; father, Stacy Rose; grandmother, Mildred Testman; brothers, Harold Venable & Thadrick Hopkins; aunt, Marguerite Perringer; uncle, Robert Rose; and her late husband Thomas Davis. She is survived by her daughters, Orgena Rose and Khadijah Ashanti Venable-Lesesne; sister, Cheryl Venable; brothers, Sterling Venable and Ulander Venable; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sr. Sandra Venable Davis Obl/SSAL, was an active and devoted member of SS. Peter and Paul Traditional Catholic Church, Hammonton, NJ, The Most Reverend Sherman R. Mosley, D.D., her Bishop and Pastor. In 2003, she desired to be converted to the Roman Catholic Faith and was conditionally baptized in the rites of the Catholic Church on Holy Saturday, April 7, 2007. Up to the time of her passing from this life, she was active in many aspects of the life of the church. Sr. Sandra was a Founding Member of SS. Peter and Paul and served on the Board of Trustees and as Church Treasurer in the Fiscal Administration Division. She greatly enjoyed the music of the church and served as the president of the St. Cecilia Church Choir. Most memorably, Sr. Sandra enjoyed serving as a Third-Order Oblate of St. Alphonus M. Liguori in the work of supporting the local and foreign Mission and caring for those in need, along with her fellow Oblate Sisters. She will be sadly missed.
Visitation will also be on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 9am at SS. Peter and Paul Traditional Catholic Latin Mass Church at 300 Peach Street, Hammonton, NJ. A service will immediately follow at 10am. Processional to the burial site following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Days For Girls, PO Box 2622, Mount Vernon, WA, 98273.
