Obituary For Sarah Piccardo
Sarah Piccardo, 92, of Absecon, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and friends. Sarah was born in Mayo, Ireland. She came to America when she was 16 years old. After living in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she visited Atlantic City, New Jersey with her dear friend, Ann (Farley) Kerrigan and fell in love with the area. She worked at Haddon Hall for many years before it became Resorts International where she continued to work until her retirement in 2005.
She enjoyed being surrounded by friends. She had a passion like no other for her family and was highly dedicated to her religion at Saint Pete’s Church in Pleasantville where she was a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She loved drinking tea, sewing and knitting. She could be found in her gardens tending to her beautiful flowers despite her tender age of 92.
Sarah is predeceased by her husband, Richard Piccardo; her son, Timothy Piccardo; her loving brother, Henry McGill; and her sisters, Charlotte Ryder, Mary Smyth and Peggy McGowan. She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Piccardo; Granddaughter, Tracy Piccardo, who she loved dearly; and Great Grandkids, Maddox & Hendrix Manzo who brought so much joy to her life.
A funeral mass will be 10:00AM Friday, February 10, 2023 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of New Jersey (www.alznj.org). For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.
