Therese Walker

Therese Walker, 86, of Mays Landing, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at Atlanticare in Atlantic City. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was a fifty year resident of Atlantic County, living in Absecon for many years and most recently in Mays Landing. During her career, Mrs. Walker was a bookkeeper, accountant, social worker and also worked for the Absecon and Galloway school districts, before her retirement. Her hobbies included camping, swimming and she loved baseball. She was a fan of the Phillies and the Mets. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Absecon.

She was a devoted wife to her late husband, Lawrence Walker and loving mother to her late son, Gerard Walker. She is survived by her loving children, Peter C. and Keith R. Walker; loving grandmother and great-grandmother to Melissa and Lily Ann. She is predeceased by 3 brothers and survived by her brother, Jack Drescher. She was also the most wonderful and faithful friend to many.

Visitation will be 10AM to 10:30AM, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon. A service will follow immediately at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Mays Landing.
