Thomas J. Fenwick

Fenwick III, Thomas J. ‘Lou’, of Absecon, born July 18, 1949, passed away on May 7, 2021 at home, with family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen Fenwick (Sullivan); daughter Betsy Anderson (John); son Ian; and granddaughter, Alice Anderson. Tom is predeceased by his father, Thomas Fenwick II; brother, David; and favorite aunt, Ruth Fenwick. He was raised in Moorestown NJ, graduated Moorestown High School and attended RCA Tech. His first job was pipe organ maintenance and, later, HVAC engineer, designing and maintaining systems for the Taj Mahal casino hotel as a Johnson Controls contractor. Tom lived life to the fullest: formed a band with his brother Dave in high school called “These Prosperous Times” and cut a record that played on Philadelphia radio; obtained his pilot’s license; travelled the West on his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle; bought a classic 1969 Chrysler Newport and towed a boat on which he enjoyed many adventures with his wife and children; and went on a father/son trip to Switzerland with Ian. Tom was enthusiastic about steam trains, subways and SEPTA trolleys; he collected transit tokens from around the country. He was skilled in science and electronics, was able to repair almost anything and known as the guy with the tools in the neighborhood. But he was most proud of his daughter and son and devoted himself to teaching them about the world, the way things work, and the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held later in the year. If you wish, donations would be appreciated to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission in his name.
