Jones, Thomas Lloyd, 66, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Sunday, June 14th, 2015. Born on June 12, 1949 in Atlantic City, Tom was a lifelong resident of Absecon.
He is predeceased by his grandparents Dr. C. Coulter and Lucy Charlton and his parents, Lloyd and Jane Jones. He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Betty and Bill McConnell and several nieces and nephews.
In his youth Tom enjoyed baseball and played for the V.F.W. team with his father as his coach.
He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1967. While at PHS he excelled on the wresting team and was proud to earn his letter. Tom graduated from Rider College in 1972 and received a B.S. degree in Accounting.
Tom entered the casino industry during its early years by becoming a dealer at Resorts Casino.
Realizing his love of carpentry, he left Resorts and worked on home repair and restoration. After his retirement he became a devoted caregiver for his mother.
He loved to travel to Europe with his trip to Italy as his favorite adventure. His greatest joy was riding his Harley down the back roads of New Jersey. Tom also enjoyed talking politics with his many friends at the Absecon boat ramp. He will always be remembered for his unique point of view and sense of humor.
His family would like to thank his outstanding physicians, Dr. James Wurzer and Dr. David Adelburg at the AtlantiCare Cancer Center Institute. They would also like to thank his many compassionate doctors, nurses and his social worker Diane, who cared for him at Atlanticare, Mainland Division.
