Walter Allen Stevens

Walter Allen Stevens, Jr., of Galloway, passed away peacefully at AtlantiCare in Galloway, NJ, on Monday, May 11, 2015. His loving daughter Patti was at his side when Walter went home to be with Jesus.

Walter was born in his grandmother’s home in Brattleboro, Vermont on November 28, 1925. He was a U.S. Marine in WWII and was a public accountant in Whittier, CA, for 53 years. Walter was a dedicated Christian who led over 50 people to faith in Christ.

He is survived by his daughter Patti Scardilli, son-in-law Dennis Scardilli, granddaughter Summer Henson, great-granddaughter Autumn Henson, nephew Danny Clauson, who he helped raise, Dennis & Patti’s Uncle Phil Scardilli and Aunt Joan, and many other nieces and nephews. Walter joins Patti's mother, Mida, in Heaven.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Absecon Presbyterian Church, 208 New Jersey Ave, Absecon, NJ 08201, with visitation from 1-2 PM at that location. For online condolences, please visit www.parselsfh.com.

Walter’s remains will be buried at sea by the U.S. Navy embarking from Naval Base San Diego, CA, where he was stationed before shipping out to Guadalcanal. Semper Fi, Walter!
