Walter F.E. Geary, 93, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on October 1, 2021. Walt was born in Egg Harbor City to Walter and Barbara (Thon) Geary. Walter resided in both Egg Harbor City and Atlantic City during his youth. He served honorably in the United States Army as a Military Police in the Country of Germany. After serving his Country, he returned to Atlantic City where he met his future Wife, Mary L. Stephenson. They purchased a home in Absecon, where they raised their 4 daughters. Walter was a proud member of Local 322 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union until his retirement at the age of 57. Walt was an accomplished tradesman who had the tools and knowledge to fix anything. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, having been to every State but Alaska. They traveled in their RV and spent much time in Florida and the western United States. Walt was a licensed pilot and his home port was Bader Field. He had a passion for flying his Cesna aircraft. Walt was also a member of Sam Model Aviation Club. He was locally affiliated with the Atlantic County Sky Blazers. He traveled throughout the US, competing in meets. After the passing of his wife, Mary, he relocated to Palm Coast, Florida, where he lived out his golden years. While in his 80’s, he would still mow his own lawn and maintained his lawn meticulously. His lawn tractor became his chariot. Walt was predeceased by his wife, Mary and his daughter, Susan Geary. Surviving are his daughter, Mary Lou Latorre and her husband, Mike; and their children Raymond (Erica) Leak and Michael (Robyn) Latorre; children of his daughter Susan, Gary and Marc Heiland; daughter, Debbie Smedile and her husband, Anthony; and their son, Michael; daughter, Elizabeth Thomas; and her children, Justin, Brian (Chelsea), and Tyler Thomas; Great-Grandchildren, Isabella Leak, Mason Leak and Reece Thomas; also survived by his sister-in-law, Dee Geary; his dark haired daughter, Gail; and he was Pop to many. A service will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Parsels, located on New Jersey Ave., Absecon 6PM to 8PM.
