William Thorne

William Thorne Jr., (Jersey Bill), 63, of Galloway, has gone to his rest in the Peace of Christ on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Camden after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong Galloway Township resident where he was an All-Star baseball player throughout his life. Bill worked as a commercial fisherman and in the building trade. His most recent place of employment was with Best Construction. Bill loved Rock&Roll music and attended Woodstock in 1969. Predeceased by his father and mother, William and Amelia Thorne of Galloway; Survived by his siblings, Nancy Thorne of Pleasantville, Mary Thorne (Mike) of Galloway, Joe (Marcia) of Galloway, Raymond of Mullica, Betty DeMari (Glenn) of Pomona, Terry Bourguignon (Danny) of Galloway. Known as “Uncle Bill” to many, especially his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive their relatives and friends at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Avenue, Absecon, NJ on Wednesday, March 5th from 5pm to 7pm. A Funeral Service for Bill will be held at 7pm. An inurnment will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association www.heart.org in memory of Bill would be appreciated by his family.
