Obituary For Virginia Hare Davenport
Virginia Hare Davenport, 84, of Egg Harbor Township, passed away peacefully in Absecon on January 6, 2023. Ginny was born in Camden NJ, grew up in Landsdown PA and Ocean City NJ. She was a graduate of Landsdown-Aldan High School and West Chester State College where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education. Ginny taught school in Woodbury NJ and later retired from Folsom School in Folsom NJ. She was later employed at Boscov’s Dept. Store. Ginny was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a Deacon in the Absecon Presbyterian Church. She is predeceased by her husband C. William Davenport, Sr.; her parents, Clifford W. and Blanche N. Hare; also her brother, William Hare. Ginny is survived by her children, Kathleen (Gary) Quattrochi from Sewell NJ, Charles W. Davenport, Jr. (Lisa) from Egg Harbor Township NJ and Nancy Masi (John); loving grandmother to Kelsey Q. Enright, Morgan Q. St. Leger, and C. William Davenport III. She is also survived by her childhood best friend of 80 years, Roberta Kauffman (Bill Britton), of Stuart, FL. Services will be private at a later date.
